About Kanshu Sunadomari
Kanshu Sunadomari was born in Kagoshima, Japan in 1923. During his youth he became an uchi-deshi or live-in student receiving instruction in the physical and spiritual aspects of Aikido directly from Aikido's founder, Morihei Ueshiba.
In 1954, to spread the founder's teachings, he opened the Manseikan Dojo
and began instructing in Kumamoto City, Japan. In 1961, he received the
rank of 9th dan directly from the founder and was appointed the head instructor
of the Kyushu area..
In 1969, after the passing of the founder, he seperated from the Aikikai
organization and under the name of "Manseikan Aikido" began to
independently pursue his study of the true spirit of Aikido. In 1999, the
name changed from "Manseikan Aikido" to "Aiki Manseido."
Sunadomari Sensei currently continues to teach his students directly
allowing each and every one of them to individually experience his technique.
